MSU-Northern Diesel Technology Center | Havre, MT

Lakeside Excavation played a key role in constructing the Diesel Technology Center, the largest single project on the MSU-Northern campus. Designed to modernize and expand the nationally recognized Diesel Tech program, the project involved removing 75% of outdated structures, abating asbestos, and recycling over 5,000 tons of concrete and asphalt for use on-site.

Challenges included deep utility reroutes, poor soils requiring extensive foundation prep, and winter concrete work under extreme conditions. Despite these complexities, the project earned a Two Globes Designation from the Green Globes program for its commitment to sustainability and high-performance design.
