Responsibilities

  • Perform equipment and vehicle repairs both in the shop and out in the field
  • Execute repairs to Lakeside standards and within expected timelines
  • Communicate major issues to the Shop Manager and Superintendent
  • Maintain accurate work orders and documentation
  • Order parts locally and manage inventory of filters, components, and tools
  • Coordinate external vendor repairs as needed
  • Respond to breakdown calls and expedite repairs or part sourcing
  • Evaluate repair needs and determine appropriate methods
  • Inspect equipment after incidents and document findings
  • Conduct regular job site visits to inspect, plan, and support maintenance
  • Advise Superintendents and Project Managers on equipment upkeep and reporting
  • Identify and report defective maintenance practices at job sites

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical background with at least 2 years of experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL required within 45 days of employment
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Commitment to Lakeside’s mission of safety, workmanship, and innovation
  • Ability to problem-solve and lead repair efforts
  • Familiarity with diesel systems, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical repairs
  • Comfortable reading schematics, prints, and technical manuals
  • Eagerness to adopt and learn advanced diagnostics technology

Physical & Work Conditions

  • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout shifts
  • Periodic travel to job sites as needed
  • Work may be physically demanding and sometimes stressful due to deadlines
  • Outdoor work in variable weather conditions
